Date Night in Northwest Arkansas

Because January is such a cold, indoor time here in Arkansas, it’s harder for me to schedule a date night for you on my website! I look for inexpensive concerts, local events, and restaurants that offer good deals, or where I can schedule/provide dessert and coffee or drinks. I love to throw in flowers for the ladies and give some guidance for dress..since the events are usually a surprise!

For January, I’d like to make some suggestions and let you decide where you will go! My favorite is Crystal Bridges, both inside and out! There are two special exhibits right now, Julie Alpert: Altars, Keepsakes, Squiggles, and Bows (which is colorful, girly, adorable..and great for a selfie background!) and Cross Pollination: Heade, Cole, Church, and Our Contemporary Movement (mostly flowers, 80 works of art plus photographs and natural history specimens). And the trails and grounds are open sunrise to sunset, so go early! The Momentary is open Thursday-Saturday until 10pm, and currently, In Some Form or Fashion is on display (free!), plus you are welcome to enjoy the Tower Bar (..after January 10th, it’s closed for maintenance until then!). The Atrium Bar is downstairs next to the Onyx Coffee Lab, and open on Friday/Saturday until 10pm.

Art on the Bricks Art Walk in Downtown Rogers (with Live Music in multiple locations!) is Thursday, January 13th beginning at 4:30pm. Pop Up and Gallery Exhibits last until 7:30pm, and live music lasts until 9pm.

Usually I mail notes for each person suggesting conversation, fun ideas, a little game, or a new way to connect, and provide notes for each additional event location. In the first mailed note, I always suggest taking the Love Language Quiz (so your partner can feel your love, and you can speak their love language!). If there is an opportunity, I like to catch couples out, and take a photo so they can remember their evening! It’s not always easy to take a selfie..especially at night or when the backdrop is a deer that is 20 feet tall! : ) But take a picture together to remember your night out!

Or feel free to grab a movie and dinner at a restaurant that you’ve never tried. There so many amazing places, and they need our business! For restaurants, try Pizzeria Ruby or Hail Fellow Well Met in Johnson, right off the 540 bypass. Spider-Man No Way Home was an awesome movie, and American Underdog also looks amazing! There is also a MET Opera Cinderella Encore at Malco Razorback.

You can also spend an evening in..ordering food in or not, and even playing a game! I just got my husband a new game (Couples Edition), and I’m sure he can’t wait to play it, haha! Honestly, women love to connect, men love to make them happy. That’s why we love them!

Find a great playlist on Spotify (or create your own!), and listen together. Here’s one I love!

Dress up for your loved one, look into their eyes, listen to them, and determine to spend more evenings alone with them, whether you are home or out. Love the one you have chosen. It will improve your daily quality of life..and that of your family members too.

love, mom
